Difficulty swallowing, dysphagia, may cause the sufferer to feel embarrassment eating and drinking around friends and family. This may lead to lack of participation during holiday celebrations. Cleft lip and cleft palate are common birth conditions that occur as a baby is developing in utero. Feeding is a common concern for babies born with clip lip and/or cleft palate. Depending on the severity of the cleft the baby may be able to breastfeed, bottle-feed or feed using specialized bottles.

As a surgical nurse for many years a common patient complaint is “constipation,” an extremely common side effect of pain medications.

When I was a kid we measured in pounds (lb) ounces (oz) and cups (C). With our changing globalized society we are now seeing more and adapting to the international, or metric measuring system.

Today, Marth Rose Shulman at the New York Times posted a great recipes for a delicious Berry and Rose Geranium smoothie with the ripe, fresh berries in the stores right now. Normally, this smoothie is made with frozen bananas, but here its made with dairy. Yummy delicious!
