Epub 2012 Aug 20.
In a comparison between the DynaCleft® Positioning Strips with Nasal Elevators and NAM-Grayson system, "both methods significantly reduced the cleft width and improved the nasal asymmetry. Our findings show that both methods produced similar results."

"The use of a nasal elevator reduces both the length and the extent of the primary intervention, without compromising the final result."

"DynaCleft ® [positioning strips] significantly decreased the size of the alveolar cleft width compared to infants who did not use it. Providers should consider using DynaCleft® [positioning strips] for patients who may not have access to infant maxillary orthopedics."

"DynaCleft® [positioning strips] as a presurgical orthopedic therapy may help to limit uncontrolled physiological changes and reposition the premaxillary segment, while reducing cleft widths prior to definitive lip surgery."

Clinically, DynaCleft® averaged more maxillary retraction and cleft size reduction on both the right and left sides compared to the control group. Within the DynaCleft® group, a statistically significant difference was found for premaxillary retraction on both the right and left sides... DynaCleft® as a presurgical orthopedic therapy may help to limit uncontrolled physiological changes and reposition the premaxillary segment, while reducing cleft widths prior to definitive lip surgery.

Comparative Study of Presurgical Infant Orthopedics by Modified Grayson Method and Dynacleft With Nasal Elevators in Patients With Unilateral Cleft Lip and Palate—A Clinical Prospective Study. The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal. August 2020.
Both methods [DynaCleft with Nasal elevator system and a modified Grayson technique] proved effective in improving the nasal asymmetry, reducing the alveolar cleft gap, and approximating the lips together.
