| Rafael is using the DynaCleft® pre-operative positioning system for improved functional and cosmetic surgical outcomes. His mother describes their story:
"During a routine pregnancy exam, our baby was diagnosed with a cleft lip... We looked for the best resources available and which ones complement our baby's treatment... He was less than a week old when we started using the DynaCleft system and now that he's two months, we can clearly see the wonderful benefits it has provided. We're waiting for his first surgery coming up next month and hopefully we will see his permanent smile". |

| How do you treat cleft lip and/or cleft palate? Treatment includes pre-operative positioning, reconstructive surgeries and ongoing therapy with an interdisciplinary team. Initial surgery closes the separation and further surgeries improve appearance of the mouth, lip and nose. Therapy may include feeding and speech, as well as screenings for hearing impairments which are more prevalent in children with a cleft. |
| What is the DynaCleft System? The DynaCleft system gently guides, shapes, and supports facial tissues to improve nasal symmetry and better position a cleft lip for improved cosmetic and functional surgical results.
The system is comprised of two components, the DynaCleft Positioning Strips and the DynaCleft Nasal Elevator. Each component can be used independently, together, or in conjunction with a NAM or intra-oral plate.
