Cleaning Tips for the OraStretch press and Therabite Jaw Motion Rehab Systems

Tips for keeping the OraStretch press and TheraBite system clean.

• Rinse the mouthpieces after each use, and allow to fully dry.
  
• Dip the mouthpieces in mouthwash, wait 30 secs, rinse with water and dry. 
• Brush the mouthpieces like your teeth.  Rinse and dry.
  
• Remove the foam pads and wash the mouthpieces with dish soap and water.  Dry.
  

With all of these, do not allow the OraStretch® press or TheraBite device to become fully submerged or covered in water.   And always allow the mouthpieces to dry.  Drying is one the most important parts of keeping the device clean.

Also, while the devices should be able to withstand the dishwasher, we do not recommend that you wash them in it, as it could destabilize the device or materials.  We also, generally, do not recommend wiping the mouthpieces down with alcohol swabs, as they seem do reduce the strength of the pads adhesive.  In addition, these are single-patient use devices only, and there is no protocol for fully sterilizing these systems for use by multiple patients.
